Herefordshire Mind Zest project is part of a national programme funded by Time To Change. Zest aims to reduce stigma and improve mental wellbeing through increased physical activity and healthy eating. The Institute of Psychiatry are evaluating the project and participants are asked to complete evaluation forms following activities to demonstrate the effectiveness of healthy living programmes. The Herefordshire Mind Zest project is already meeting the targets set by Time to Change and is a successful example of partnership working with Herefordshire Council, Amey, Herefordshire Nature Trust and Halo leisure.

Zest activities include swimming, walking, badminton, football, healthy eating sessions and gardening as well as one-off ad hoc type activities.

The Zest team is led by co-ordinator Val Comley and includes a qualified nutritionist and horticulturalist and two other experienced support staff
