Through this service we offer a range of short course training, workshops and physical activity groups to support wellbeing, resilience and recovery. These fall into three categories:
Education and Activities are delivered by experts in their field and are designed to increase a person’s confidence and self-esteem. Recent courses have included: Art, Craft, Print-making, Literacy, Numeracy and Confidence Building.
Going on courses through Education & Activities has enabled me to gain confidence, learn new skills and be more independent. It has changed my social life as I now attend courses at the art college and the leisure centre.
Workshops, courses and activities are held at Heffernan House. Please see our Spring timetable for details.
Our third learner celebration event took place on Thursday 14th July in the rather grand surroundings on the Town Hall. Over 60 people attended the event with loved ones. Certificates were handed out and prizes for excellent learning, progress and achievement were awarded. These awards take into account not just the work the learners have produced, but also their commitment to attending and taking part in courses and the journey travelled in terms of learning.
Val would like to thank the staff at the Town Hall for their organisation of the room and refreshments and Tesco Belmont and Morrisons Leominster for their support of the barbecue.
Our courses and activities are funded by the Big Lottery fund.
You must apply for courses using the appropriate application form (above). If you are not currently registered with Herefordshire Mind, you can still apply for courses and we will arrange to register you when we have received your completed form.
If I didn’t have Education & Activities, getting out of bed would be pointless. It’s so important for people to have that focus and something meaningful to do.
