Housing in Mind

Who we are and what we do:

Housing in Mind provides accommodation for people who may require a little extra practical and emotional support to maintain and sustain a tenancy. We provide a range of bedsits or shared flats in Hereford and offer support on an appointment basis 7 days a week, with a night concierge service between 9pm-5am.

It is expected that most people will use the service for no more than 2 years although we recognise that some people may need longer.

The support we provide aims to help the individual identify they want in order to achieve their ambitions and goals. The support can include:

  • Help with skills needed to maintain a tenancy (paperwork, budgeting, environment, health and safety)
  • Emotional support
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Developing social networks
  • Accessing community facilities i.e. leisure, work and education
  • Enhancing people’s confidence

Rent & Council Tax is either paid by the person themselves or may be covered by Housing Benefit. Rent includes utilities, tenancy support and night concierge but excludes TV Licence.

We are also able to provide a higher level of recovery-focussed support to people living within one of our properties if this is required through our Community Support Team. This support can be self-funded or accessed via a personal budget.
