Herefordshire Mind employs around 50 full-time, part-time and bank working staff in a variety of employment settings: from residential nursing care to community support we offer a wide range of roles and career paths. Please see below for our current vacancies.

Training and Development

We believe that good people management is essential. All staff undergo a comprehensive induction and training programme to enable them to develop and deploy their skills, knowledge and experience in the most effective way. The programme of induction, probation, supervision and appraisal ensures that people are effectively supervised and developed. Recovery Support Worker

Miller Court, Hereford 

16,060, rising to 16,562 per annum 
38.5 hours a week 
Shifts across 24 hour and 7 day rota

Terms and Conditions

We are opening a new purpose built 14-bedroom mental health recovery facility in Hereford. We are looking for a Support Worker who will enable a structured and caring environment for men and women with severe, enduring mental illness and mild learning disability on their journey of ‘recovery’.

We need a committed individual, who can work both independently and in collaboration with the staff team and other professionals, to ensure that the highest standard of personalised care and support is provided to all clients.

The successful applicant will need to have the following:

  • Diploma Level 2 in Mental Health and Social Care, or equivalent
  • Awareness of mental health issues
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to use their own initiative
  • An empathetic, caring and non-judgemental approach
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Full driving licence (desirable)

This post will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate

Registered Mental Health Nurse

28,000 per annum + 1000 Golden Hello*
38.5 hours a week

We are opening a new purpose built 14-bedroom mental health recovery facility in Hereford. We are looking for a Nurse who will enable a structured and caring environment for men and women with severe, enduring mental illness and mild learning disability on their journey of ‘recovery’.

The successful applicant will provide support, guidance and advice to the staff team, and help to create an environment conducive to the care, support and management of individuals with enduring mental health needs. They will also be responsible for assessing risk, personal development planning and direct work with clients.

We can offer you a competitive salary, staff benefits package and good career development and training. There is an additional payment of 1,000* as a Golden Hello for joining us. T&C’s apply*.

The successful applicant will be a qualified RNMH with the following:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Experience of support planning and risk assessing
  • A professional approach and awareness of maintaining boundaries
  • Confidence in their communication skills
  • The ability to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Commitment to effective teamwork and service development
  • Able to work over 24 hours and 7 days a week according to the rota
